About Miss April

I grew up in Northern California. After graduating I attended BYU Idaho and earned my Bachelors Degree in History Education.  Before I had my children (Jared 8, Lydia 6) I worked as a preschool aide, classroom assistant, substitute teacher and reading interventionist. After my son was born, I took a break from working outside the home and became a stay-at-home mother.  As I spent my days with my children I fell in love with early childhood education. Seeing their excitement, watching them learn and hearing them ask for learning activities encouraged me to start thinking about running my own preschool. I still love history but watching young children learn fulfills me. I love using my teaching background to plan fun engaging lessons that aren't just cute but are hands on and academically appropriate.
I have always wanted to live on the East Coast and am so happy to be here. I enjoy reading, organizing, planning holiday traditions, finding fun things to do around Charlottesville, and playing with my family!
