9:00 Arrival: Sign in and then work on independent activity set out while waiting for everyone to arrive.
9:10 - 9:30 Opening Circle Time: Sing welcome and wiggle songs, discuss our areas of inquiry for the day/week, read stories relating to those themes, talk about the weather, calendar, math or literacy activity.
Show and Tell on Thursdays.
9:30 - 10:30 Centers: This is where students get to do their own exploration with teacher cooperation in different “choice” areas: small manipulatives (Legos, small toys, counting bears, small stacking items, etc.), sensory table (sand, water, beans, etc.), Literacy: art/writing (free art, not structured projects, writing exploration), dramatic play (kitchen, dress-up, store, etc.), large manipulatives (blocks, Duplos, trains, etc.).
10:30 - 10:40 Clean Up
10:40 - 10:50 Snack Time
10:50 - 11:10 Specials:
Tuesday: Music
Wednesday: Art
Thursday: Science/cooking
11:10 - 11:15 Clean up and get ready for outdoor/indoor play
11:15 - 11:35 Outdoor/Indoor free play
11:40 - 11:55 Closing Circle: Large gross motor movement, math or literacy activity, sing closing songs, review things we’ve learned that day, stories.
11:55- 12:00 Pack up and pick up
